Atlantic Road Trip Brings New Album and Cross-Continental Sound to Czech Republic and Slovakia

Collaborative Jazz-Folk Trio Embarks on Nine-Date Central European Tour Beginning April 8
 – Atlantic Road Trip, the acclaimed collaborative trio featuring Chicago trumpeter and composer Chad McCullough, Dutch/Slovak vibraphonist Miro Herak, and Scottish multi-instrumentalist Paul Towndrow, announces a nine-date album release tour across Czech Republic and Slovakia, April 8-16. The tour celebrates the ensemble's latest release, Watch as the Echo Falls on Calligram Records, and marks the group's first performances in Central Europe, where their distinctive blend of jazz improvisation and folk traditions promises to resonate with audiences steeped in rich musical traditions.

The tour launches April 8 at Club Kino Černošice and includes performances at the prestigious Jazzinec Jazz Festival in Trutnov, before winding through intimate venues and cultural centers in both countries. The journey concludes April 16 at Nu Spirit Live in Bratislava, one of Slovakia's premier jazz destinations.

Atlantic Road Trip—McCullough on trumpet and electronics, Herak on vibraphone, and Towndrow on multiple instruments—has built its reputation on a refusal of genre boundaries and a commitment to collective musical conversation. For the majority of the tour, the core trio will be joined by Czech musicians Peter Korman, and Robo Ragan on bass and Marek Urbanek on drums, expanding the ensemble's sonic possibilities while maintaining its intimate, conversational approach to improvisation.

Watch as the Echo Falls has already garnered critical acclaim ahead of it's release. "5-stars... Oh, such beauty," writes Jeff Krow of Audiophile Audition. "Atlantic Road Trip's new CD provides near 45 minutes of bliss… This is a release to treasure, and one to return to often, as a respite from chaotic times."

Thierry De Clemensat of Paris-move.com notes: "In a contemporary landscape where jazz and folk increasingly intersect yet often remain neatly compartmentalized, Watch As The Echo Falls occupies a rarer space. It does not fuse genres so much as dissolve their boundaries, offering instead a fluid, exploratory language, one that privileges atmosphere over assertion, and discovery over definition."

The new album continues Atlantic Road Trip's exploration of cross-cultural musical forms, incorporating live electronics into the trio's already expansive sonic palette. Across its runtime, Watch as the Echo Falls weaves together cinematic ambience, folk-informed melody, and collective improvisation into a seamless listening experience.
